Welcome! My name is Kristen, and I help people navigate life’s challenges with IFS Therapy and Art Journaling

I’m a Licensed Professional Counselor in Wisconsin and Oregon with advanced training in IFS Therapy, Visual Arts, and Spirituality. I offer in person and online sessions through Peace of Mind Counseling, LLC (La Crosse, WI); and online sessions throughout Oregon.

The clients I work with are often drawn to IFS Therapy and Art Journaling to better understand and express themselves, and connect with their strengths to move forward through challenges. Though high-functioning on the outside, many of my clients carry the weight of trauma–struggling with anxiety, relationship challenges, imposter syndrome, codependency, perfectionism, or people pleasing.

Some Common Issues I Help Address Include:

Anxiety & Stress

Codependency, People Pleasing, Imposter Syndrome

Caregiver Stress & Burnout

Depression

Grief and Loss

Life Transitions

Relationship Challenges

Self-Esteem and Self-Compassion

Spiritual Growth and Self-Discovery

How IFS Therapy Can Help
IFS Therapy offers a gentle, empowering way to understand the different parts of yourself—like the inner critic, the people pleaser, or the part that feels anxious or stuck. Instead of fighting these parts, you’ll learn to listen to them with curiosity and compassion. Over time, this creates space for greater clarity, self-compassion, and Self-leadership—so you can move forward with more ease, confidence, and inner peace.

How Art Journaling Can Help
Art journaling is a creative and reflective tool that complements Internal Family Systems (IFS) therapy by providing a visual space to explore and map your inner system. Using simple materials—markers, paints, collage, or writing—you can express parts of yourself that may otherwise be difficult to articulate.

In an IFS framework, art journaling can help:

  • Identify and connect with different parts (protectors, exiles, etc.)

  • Externalize inner experiences in a safe, contained way

  • Access Self-energy through creative presence and curiosity

  • Track progress, insights, and emotional shifts over time

This process doesn’t require artistic skill—just a willingness to explore. Your journal becomes a private, supportive space where healing takes shape through image, word, and intention
